TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Central York School District
Stony Brook Elementary
York, Pennsylvania
Kindergarten Teacher – As a teacher I instruct kindergarten curriculum as well as design and develop programs to meet the
academic and social needs of students through hands-on experience and technology. I assess student performance through
anecdotal records, student-teacher conferences, rubrics, checklists, student portfolios, and through the use of DIBELS (Dynamic
Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills). I refer students and participate in the IST (Instructional Support Team) process as well as
psychiatric and behavioral consultations. I participate in writing IEPs (Individualized Education Program) and making
accommodations in my classroom for students with special needs. I designed and continually update a teacher webpage as a part
of ongoing communication with parents. Additionally, I am a participant on the district wide assessment committee and the student
wide effective behavioral support team as well as completing and implementing Responsive Classroom Training I and II.
Second Grade Teacher – I differentiated and instructed the second grade curriculum to meet the needs of all
students. Guided reading and guided math groups were orchestrated to better meet the needs of all students. Student
performance was assessed using anecdotal records, student-teacher conferencing, rubrics and student portfolios. Conducting
parent-teacher conferences and ongoing parent communication was an important means of getting parents involved in their child's
education.
Title 1 Summer Reading Camp Teacher – I designed and instructed Language Arts lessons, including reading and writing, for students who qualified for Title 1 services.
